The Kings

A room at The Kings

The Private Room

Beyond the hall, through the arch at its far end. By invitation.

The room

Nothing in it resembles the hall you have just left. The walls are dark stone rather than pale, lit low along the line where they meet the ceiling. There is seating, and a table. The floor is quiet.

At its centre a single piece stands under glass on a lit plinth, with rings of light set into the floor around it. It is the only thing in the room asking to be looked at.

Getting in

By invitation. A house keeps a room like this for the people it wants to receive in it, and that is the whole of what there is to say about the door.
